Those of you who got preggo on Clomid...

I got preggo on my 2nd round of Clomid 50mg CD 3-7

Hi Shae! I usually do O on my own..However, last month I did not and the month before that I O'd really late. My doc says its normal not to O every once in a while and to have an "off" cycle if you are usually regular. My DH also has morphology issues so he thinks this will give me the boost I need and will give DH more targets for the "good sperm" to get to LOL.

How many follies did you produce or did you know?

I was on Clomid for 5 months. My OB had upped my dose to 50mg in the 4th month of trying and I conceived the second month of that dose taking CD 3-7. I never O on my own (well, rarely and in that time I wasn't) so I was also on Progestine to induce O as well.

cd 3-7 is when i got pregs, so that's what i am doing again when we can start ttc! :) hopefully it does the trick rather quickly! although my cycle may be way off now!?!

Im starting Clomid next cycle and I will be taking 25 mg on CD3 to Cd 7.

Laura I took clomid for 5 months before I got preggo. Here are the calendar days that I took them on (my doctor kind of let me choose what I wanted)and at what dose the clomid was. I did ovulate every month that I was on it.

Month #1 @ 50mg- CD-3-7

Month #2 @ 50mg- CD-1-5

Month #3 @ 50mg- CD-1-5

Month #4 @ 100mg- CD-1-5

Month #5 @ 100mg- CD-3-7 (this is the month that I got preggo with my twins!

I will follow like Liane did.

Month #1 @ 50mgs - CD4-8, ovulated great no pregnancy

Month #2 @ 50mgs - CD4-8, ovulated great, no pregnancy progesterone was 22.3 I think thats right trying to remember off the top of my head

Month #3 @ 50mgs - CD4-8, did NOT ovulate, had to take prometrium to induce that cycle

Month #4 @ 100mgs - CD3-7, ovulated great, progesterone was like 24.3, and got pregnant miscarried @ 5weeks pregnant though.

Month #5 @ 100mgs - CD5-9, ovulated great, progesterone kinda low 14.3, got pregnant had to take progesterone meds until my 12th week and im currently 23weeks 5days pregnant today.

Goodluck sweetie. Hope this helps. I dont ovulate on my own, so I hope your chances are better thats for sure.

Also I hear the earlier you take it the more eggs you produce but not all are totally mature, and the later you take it (5-9 being latest), then the less eggs you produce but more mature.

Oh and I am pregnant with just 1 little boy named Noah :)

I got pregnant on clomid! It was my 3rd round- first 2 rounds I took 25mg days 3-7- then the 3rd round I took 50mg 3-7.

Did any of you have any weird side effects from it?

I took clomid CD 3-7, 100 mg... first round got preggo with twins

My progesterone was crazy high... I think like 80-90

I will be taking it on CD3 to CD7 only 25mg tho. I hope that this helps me out.

Laura, I am taking clomid 50mg on cd3-7. I have just finished my 2nd round of it and no luck yet. However; I also have high levels of prolactin which is basically telling my body that I am already preggers (how cruel is that). I don't have any symptoms and am expecting AF to show any time now. Oh, btw my RE did mention that my cycles have improved over the first cycle on clomid. This last month i had 3 follicles - all good size (between 18-20mm) and my uterine lining had thickened from 5-6mm to 8mm last cycle. So, this month we are hoping to get even better results. I am on meds (carbergolene) to help reduce the prolactin - so we are hoping this is our month!

As you can see there are alot of ladies out there where clomid worked for them good luck!

Gibber... how did u find out that u had hight levels of prolactin? Did u have any signs or symptoms of that?

katie - no signs or symptoms. The only way they detected it was from my cd3 blood results. Some people do experience symptoms though -those who have extremely high levels usually over 100. Symptoms could include nipple discharge, headaches. My highest level was 51 and I hade zero symptoms. The normal range is max. 30. I am so glad they found this out and hope that this is what has been keeping me from getting pregnant all these months.

I would make sure to take it with your supper meal!! You will have less sideeffects. I took it in the morning for my first two months and had several side effects. When I changed to taking it with my supper meal all the side effects went away!

Jolene - - THank you for the above info, that makes me feel so much better because I am waiting to hear from my doctor, on my 3rd clomid cycle, 100mg, cd3-7...had my progesterone levels check on Monday, approx. 8DPO and it was at 14. Lower than lst time which was 46 but seeing your story makes me feel much better about it.

For Laura, the first round I was on 50mg CD5-9 and did not ovulate, atlest my progesterone levels were at a 1. Then on 100mg, CD 3-7 I had a level of 46, and then this cycle 100mg CD 3-7 I had a progesterone level of 14.

Hey Laura, as you know my DH has low morphology also, and I took clmid for 2 rounds at 50mg each round cd3-7 and never got pg, if we do decide to try IUI one more time, then I am going to ask my RE to up my clomid dosage. I won't do IUI with injectables again because they are so expensive, I will just try iui with clomid one more time maybe before mving on to invitro. I know I have to buy the injections for invitro so I don't want to buy them for the iui and then not work and then turn around and buy them again for invitro, so clomid had more side effects for me, but I will deal with it because it was only $5.

side effects: I just have a super sensitive body, but I had pretty strong headaches, dry CM (but totally fine with Preseed!), and was in a really "dark" mood...not a bad mood, but more negative/depressed for about 2-3 days off and on. That was the WORST part for me! but, i am willing to do it again apparently!

oh, and i forgot...night sweats and couldn't sleep as well!! oh, the joys of ttc....

yep...me too...night sweats, irritability, weird vision with my third round.

the one bad thing i have heard is that it can thin your uterine lining and dry you up...i took mucinex to help with the CM and used preseed....i have no idea about my uterine lining though.
