Yes there are some people who get a postive early. But then if you do get a negative you may actually be preggo, but not have enough hormone to register on the hpt yet. Therefore I would wait until at least 1 day before your missed period. I only had hcg levels of 95 1 day after my missed period. So there is no way it would have showed much before then.
