Supplemental Fertility insurance

I also have BC through my work and also have no coverage for infertility beyond testing. I was told by someone else to ask my work if I can pay for a kicker on my insurance to get the infertility. I am a teacher and we are off for summer break right now but as soon as the district re-opens I am going to talk to my liason about it. Do you have your insurance through your work? If so, can you ask them about adding it to your insurance and you paying the difference. Good Luck!

I also have BCBS but the federal employees plan and they cover testing only. Many states mandate infertility coverage for employees of companies larger than 50 employees but you can not be a federal employee. If your state does not yet mandate it, it may very soon as many people are fighting for this. Good Luck

Thanks ladies, it is through my job and I just called our ins rep and she said there is no fertility rider/add on to our plan...she said the reason is because only the people who need it will buy it...WELL, DUH!!! Thats what the word "supplement" means! I swear people can be so stupid sometimes.
