Oh, we did IVF w/ ICSI also bacause my DH also had a lower count at one point. It did increase a whole lot but we did not want to take the chance of them not being able to fertilize.

That is the best sucess rate you will get as far as i know since they are actualy hand picking the best sperm and egg and injecting the sperm into the egg to fertilize. All of the eggs that we did it with fertilized - most of them then went on to strive and multiply.

I would guess it wouldnt matter if he only had 2 million as long as he had 1 good one to fertilze that eggie :)

If you have a day 3 tranfer then they will do asst hatching to help sucess rate.

Also, dont get to set on doing 2 embies because you might have a change of heart depending on how the cycle is going and how the embryos look.

Chels, did your clinic automatically do assisted hatching? It is not standard procedure at my clinic.

Kan - We still have not totally decided how many we will put in.. my options are only 1 or 2. My RE will not put 3 in me.. or highly suggests that I do not..

Kan is the cycle you did IVF+ ICSI, the onyl you are pregnant with now?

Mine told me the same BS and I just felt in my heart that I should put back 3, so I did. It is your decision how many you put back.

So you put 3 in and got preggo with one..or are you talking about another cycle?

Yes, I put back 3 and only got preggo with 1.

Kan were you worried about triplets..

according to that chart on sart.com the average couple put 2 embryos in and has a 26.1% of twin births..

No, I wasn't. The chances of all 3 of them taking are very slim.

my clinic said that they always do asst hatching with a day 3 transfer but not needed with day 5 since they are normally doing that on their own at that point.

I put 2 the 1st round and got nothing and had a very good qaulity embryo and a fair quality. The 2nd round i was insistant about doing 3 and doc still didnt want to do it cuz of whatever reasoning and at the day of transfer i made them put another embryo in and 2 stuck, one fell off early and the other stuck around a few more weeks so i would not make any choices til you see and hear how the little embryos are looking like kan said :)

very slim, esp if you have some frangments or a fair or good quality embryo caryn.

I had 3 perfect 8-celled embies and still only got preggo with 1. Isn't that ironic?

They gave me an update everday.

wow, well I worry about twins, I know I should not, but I am not sure I can handle 2 babies with minimal help..Plus my son .. I wil def take your advice though, if the embries are not that great , and of course I want this to have a chance, I may put more in..

perfect is the best but i never had that - doc said that a lot of "goods" work very well with pregnancy :)

Yes, I know women who have had poor quality have babies.

What side effects if any did you experience fromt he meds?

I am doing Lupron and then Follitsm

i felt like i was a 90 yr old lady while on the lupron and had a killer headache the whole time, lots of people are fine tho on the stuff.

My joints hurt so bad while on it and i couldnt wear my wedding ring cuz i was so swollen.

My period came late due to that too.

Did anyone gain weight from the drugs?

i think my feet were swolen too but i dont really know about that. I was heavy and gained weight but i dont know if it was from that or not. You are on it for such a short amount of time so i dont think you would gain a lot from only 3 weeks of the meds, ya know?
