success rate after a miscarriage

March 10, 2008

I have had 3 early miscarriages (4wks). I have been seeing an RE but, they found nothing wrong. They started a few procautionary measures like baby aspirin, clomid, progest supplements, and extra folic acid. I have been seeing statistics that there is only a 55-60% chance of a live birth after a miscarriage. Is that a true statistic if I am having treatement and they cannot find a cause? What would my chances be to have a baby. I am starting to get discouraged that I will continue to have miscarriage.

this is a true statistic after 3 attempts...but please don't see the glass as half empty, but more as half full...the reason being is that you have a better chance of having a live birth than to have another miscarriage :) Hang in there and hope at least this works :)

I am really trying to stay positive but, it is so hard with the statistics. I am hoping that the little treatments will help.

Kate, I'm sorry for what you are going through, and wish you the very best. Sending loads of BFP dust and sticky glue your way.

Hey Kate80, such early miscarriages do happen. Like Dr Q says dont get discouraged, there are women who got preggo even after 4-5 M/C. There is a user Crystalrose, shes a very nice person and U may want to contact her. She had recurrent miscarrriages and shes preggo now..She may be able to guide you. Her profile is below and u can send her a private message clicking the icon to the left of her profile. Good Luck
