I noticed that I started having brownish or black cervical mucous in my early forties. I will have this for two or three days before I have the clear cervical fluid appears.

I would like your opinion concerning my cervical fluid around the time I ovulate. Some cycles I have blood (sometimes very light brown, other times very red) and even some fluid that is VERY yellow, completely odorless and not an infection. Is this normal? Everything else with my cycle seems normal except for this.

It's very difficult for me to assess cervical mucus, but can tell you this, if it's not itchy, burning, or full of odor, usually ok, but only a doc can say this. If it's streachy (>8cm), then really good consistency and am glad to know you're ovulatory. Blood/irritation can be found if intercourse occurred, but please check with a doc about this and make sure your Paps are ok.
