starting period after a miscarrige

was your bleed on Wed and before "full normal flow of a period"? If so, that may have been it...if just spotting, then you should get a period within the next few days...

well, started spotting on sunday, and some of the times on sun and mon when i went to pee, it came out kind'a syrupy, like a period does sometimes. But at that time i didn't know i was in the stages of miscarrying. Tues i had 2 X that i bled, but i wore a tampon out and when i got home, it had a good bit of blood on it. By Wed afternoon, most of the bleeding had subsided, and as of Thursday, nothing. So it's hard to say whether or not it was a "normal period". Because if it was a normal period, wouldn't it have lasted more than a few days?

Where is the line drawn b/t the "miscarriage" bleeding and the "period" bleeding? Or can it overlap?

i guess what i'm not sure about is, is the bleeding from a miscarriage separate from your period? Or do you pretty much start your period B/C you've miscarried?

Hi Beautiful! How's work going? I'm sittin here waiting on old AF to come around, unless what i had last week was her. I'm waiting on Dr. Q to respond to my last Q about the overlapping of miscarriage bleeding and AF. Maybe she's gone...or maybe she's about to appear. Its soo hard to say if that was AF last week or not, gosh I hate this for you. Atleast if AF doesnt come anytime soon and appears in like 3 weeks, you will know that was it.

Dr. Q, you asked me if my sun-wed bleed was like a period or just spotting. I commented back, and asked if it's 2 separate bleedings or if they overlap? I wasn't sure if you bleed from the miscarriage and THEN you have a separate period, or if the spotting started Sunday, but within the next few days it was a little heavier, which could've been the period. Is there a distinct bleeding for each or do they overlap?

They can overlap and think they possibly did given what you're saying since you had a little heavier bleed...

okay. thanks dr. Q. My doc said to take this cycle off for trying for a baby, and just start up next month. We will, but if i were to pop up pregnant, is that okay, given i just had the miscarriage? Or are the risk such that i should avoid the ovulation window completely?

if you pop up pregnant, it'll not only be still ok, but we'll be the first to give you some...

im sorry for your loss - i didnt get my period for 6 weeks after my miscariage. Doc took a test to make sure i ovulated and 2 days later AF arrived.

Doc said that with an early loss ( I lost the baby at 5.5 weeks too) that trying again and getting pregnant with the next cycle is perfectly healthy.
