Starting Over Again

April 13, 2008

Well I am CD 4 and was in utter depression when I got AF on Thursday- But now after having a pity party I am feeling better. We have a 2 yr old and TTC # 2 for 16 months- I have been diagnosed with secondary Infertility- and DH most recently has been found to have a low count and low volume- However all his tests besides SA have come back ok- He has a slightly elevated FSH but still with in normal range-

We have been working with a RE but she just does not seem to understand me- She is very strick and I do not like her- She basically told us IVF was our only option which is fine, but will not even consider meeting with us again until DH's Urologist give him a "diagnosis" for his low volume- personally he thinks its getting better- and we think its more to the fact about 2 months ago I accidently hit him with the channel changed right on the balls YIKES! and sionce that incident things have gone down hill with the sperm :( However we did a SA in Feb. and things were lookng up...anyways- the RE will not discuss IVF and I cannot see why because if this is what we have to do I do not understand why we have to wait for the Urologist to make a diagnosis...so I am searching for a new one and have found one kinda close to us- in RI. I already sent an email to the office and will call tomorrow to see when we can meet. :)

So here is my ticker

I'm so glad to hear your back into it Caryn! I have a good feeling that baby #2 is on the way for you and dh!! The RE you're seeing sounds like a complete b**** and maybe you should consider finding another one, then it would be a fresh start!! Anyway, like I said i'm SO happy to hear your trying again! Sending lots and lots of

Aww Caryn,

I'm so sorry Af showed and I'm so sorry you have a jerk for a doctor! I would definitly get a 2nd opinion and find a new doctor. Theres no reason for her not to meet with you to discuss IVF... also I dont like how she does an iui with ovrt 10 million total motile sperm. What if a couple can not afford IVF and IUI is their only option. I want you to know a friend of mine her hubby has awful sperm. He would have like 200,000 after washing and guess what it took quite a few attempts but she did get pregnant. It ended up being ectopic but then 5 months later she got pregnant all on her own and shes due mid october. So I really think you have a shot doing iui! Unless you want to do IVF, it's completely up to you! But good luck and I cant wait until you meet your new doctor! xoxo

April 13, 2008

Caryn,

I'm glad to see you're feeling in better spirits. I know what a bummer it is to that stinkin AF!! So many months that happened to me, not as long as it has for you but I still understand your frustration, anger, confusion...heck I understand all the emotions you're goin through. I do wanna say this though, I really hate hearing how you are not connecting well with your RE. It is so important to have a good feeling about your doctor and for you to have a good understanding of how you want to achieve your goal of becoming pregnant. Are there any other reputable ones in your area? The RE I went to just retired, he was awesome awesome..but his whole group is awesome and so if you had to drive to CT, I would highly recommend this group to you. Try not to give up hope hun, it's so hard at times and I'll always be here to listen if you need to vent or lend a shoulder if ya need to cry :)

Much love to you and dh!!!

April 13, 2008

Alrighty then...guess I need to read more carefully before I post...lmao

I'm so happy to see you've found a great team of docs to help you on this crazy journey of ttc! Best of luck with the new docs :)))))

April 13, 2008

Hey Caryn,

I'm happy you're getting a new doctor. I really think it's important to feel comfortable with your doctor when dealing with these issues, otherwise it serves as an added stress.

Am I right that you're in the Boston area, or am I just making this up? Anyway, I went to college in Boston, and Brigham and Womens was such a great facility. I know you have your doctor in Rhode Island, but, if you decide to keep looking, you might want to give the ladies hospital a shot.

April 13, 2008

Yay Caryn on getting a quick response from the new place! is it close to your house? So happy you're back on too, you know i love you!

April 13, 2008

Hey Caryn,

That is GREAT NEWS!!!!! Getting a quick response is a good sign. I'm sure it will work this time! The other RE was just incompationate!!

April 13, 2008

Caryn,

I definetely agree with everyone on here about getting a new doctor. I had a doctor that told me I couldnt conceive because i was overweight and i need to lose weight. That was about 4 years ago when I was 31. i am now 35 so for all those I believed that was the problem and she wasn't willing to help me. when I discovered this web site I found out how wrong she was and I wasted all those years trying to lose weight. Now I have a new doctor who is going to try me on clomid and I love this doctor. You definetely can do better with another doctor!!!

April 13, 2008

Caryn,

You know what is going on with us and I so agree about getting a new dr. Hopefully this one will help you. Plus with the dh's situation it does sound like it is getting better. Keeping you in our prayers. If you need anything let me know. Hopefully soon you and I and all of the other ladies will get the answers that we need. The thing that so bothers me is that dr's say IVF but that just covers the problem. I just don't understand why dr's and the medical don't want to treat and cure the problem. Oh well that is them and this is me...treat and cure it don't cover up because sooner or later it will come back and bite you in the bum....

Sending you big(((hugs)))

April 13, 2008

Well the new team called and I have an appointment Wednesday at 1pm

I am closer to RI then Boston which is why I choose to go there. So I just need to get all my old infor faxed over and I will be all set. :)

April 13, 2008

Hey Caryn, I'm new to the site, and I was wondering if I can ask you a question?

April 13, 2008

Erica2004, u can ask anything on here. Go ahead with the question. I am sure that there is someone on here that can answer it for u.

April 13, 2008

Sure Erica??? ask away!

April 13, 2008

I've been trying to get pregnant for a year, and this is my first cycle on clomid. I'm 8dpo and I don't feel any symptoms, and I'm starting to feel like this cycle was a bust. Did any of yall have any symptoms.

April 13, 2008

I never had symptoms with my forst pregnancy- and many girls on here did not experience symptoms till about 10-11 DPo

Hang in there!!!! Your 2 week wait is almost over!!

April 13, 2008
