Spotting on CD 23...CONFUSED, Help

September 05, 2008

Ok,Dr.'s and Ladies: I need your help now. I'm simply baffled with my cycle this month!

Background: I have PCOS. I've been taking Metformin for about 2 months now and I take Prometrium 200 mg for part of the cycle. Last cycle was 72 days long, I think I did ovulate on CD 66 of that cycle which made for a 9 day Luteal Phase. The cycle before that one was 56 days with no ovulation at all.

Now on to THIS cycle. Today is CD 24. I don't think I ovulated yet. Last night, I started spotting and again today. (TMI warning)...It's kinda more than spotting, but not a full flow at all, not enough for a tampon or even a pad. Any ideas on what's going on? I don't know what this could mean. I know your can sometimes spot during ovulation and I also know about implantation bleeding. I don't think it's either of those things b/c like I said it's more than spotting, but it's also not a full-blown AF either. I took an HPT just in case and it was negative of course.

I'm including the link for my chart from fertilityfriend.com, please take a look. Any advice would be MOST helpful! THANKS!!!!!!

Definately need if all you fertility testing is normal ovulatory medications such as Clomid or injectable gonadotropins as Metformin itself isn't doing the trick..

This spotting isn't necessarily a sign of ovulation

Well, now it seems as if it is a full period, which con fuses me even more. WHy on CD 23 would I start a period without even ovulating? I don't get it...

anything, and i mean anythijng can disrupt ur normal cycle. for some reason... ur cycle changed this time around and had ur period on cd 23, it happens. not sure why u didnt ovulate, sometimes even healthy women only ovulate like 6-10 times a year. not everyone ovulates every month. i would only get discouraged or worried if you stop ovulating all together and ur cycles remain funky lol
