spotting during ovulation

August 31, 2007

i am just full of questions tonight!! i have NEVER had this but i believe i am ovulating...but...i also just noticed i have very slight but bright red spotting...along with this dull cramping. is it possible i am pregnant? i just was not sure if spotting during ovulation was normal and like i said earlier i dont know what the deal with my bbt is due to a sinus infection. there was a definate spike 3 days ago from mid 97 to mid 98 then back down again to mid/high 97 range the next day. this is just very unusual for what my body normally does. wondering if the i had a few months ago miscarriage has changed the way my body handles things...thank you so much, really :)

*it was a natural miscarriage and very early on. have had no issues with it and got a negative pg test very shortly after

Hi Courtney,

We all hope that you along with all of our users become pregnant shortly, but it appears that like you said you're close to ovulating, which is great...a giant step in the right direction and say this based on your bbts that haven't consistently been elevated yet. We hope you do the "babydance" with your partner this weekend and encourage you to use an OPK. If not, at least continue checking bbts to see if there's a consistent elevation and please keep us posted...

good news doc!!!! woke up this morning and my BBT was 98.2!!!!! WHEW WHEW!! hope all that dancing pays off ;)

would you suggest "the dance" again today as well? i mean, i know it can't hurt, but, will it help?

Hi Courtney,

Although the BD won't hurt to do so again today, chances are since your temperature is already elevated, the egg is gone and has hopefully been fertilized by now. We'll know 12 dpo when you check an hpt to see if this month is a success. We're wishing you the best and

question...my temp today dropped slightly which i knew was possible (dropped from 98.2 to 97.9). was wondering if you could explain what exactly the "fallback temperature" means. i know its a 2nd estrogen surge, but, wondering why that happens and if it is normal .

Hi Courtney,

One value isn't necessarily diagnostic, and could be due to many factors. Let's wait to see what your values show for the next few mornings before we make any conclusions, but we do see this and one time is normal, and hope some our users can share some their BBT experiences.
