Sperm Count & Mobility

Hi Dr.

What is considered to be good/average Sperm Count & Mobility? DH has been tested and if I remember correctly His Count was slightly under and Mobility was above average. Thanks

You should try and get 10Million Total Motile Sperm..

Dr Q Thanks for ur post, but Im not exactly sure what u mean? I thought count & mobility were to different things...

If your DH's sperm count = 20 million and

Motility = 50%

then total motile sperm is 10 Million. Thats what Dr Q means and wants to see typically.

That was just an example..the 20 M and 50%. Just gave the example to explain how he arrives at the 10 M total motile sperm. U can change the Total sperm count to 40 M and motility to 25% however but total motile should be 10 M

one should also multiply this number with the semen volume liste in the analysis

So this is my dh's Sa anaylsis:sperm count 33 million, motility 15% and volume 3.0mls. Does that mean that total motile sperm is 14.85 million? The Sa result says 2-3 million motile sperm (post-wash) though!
