Sperm antibodies

February 04, 2008

My hubby had a vas reversal +- 2 years ago. His semon was tested afterwards and doc said he had sperm antibodies which were interfering with the motility of his sperm. We have been trying to conceive for +- two years now and still no preg. He again had a semon annalysis last week and the doc said the test was in consistancy with normal fertility and my hubbies sperm should result in a preg. But nothing was mentioned about antibodies. Could the antibodies have dissapeared? Please can someone let me know what they think.

Hi Amanda,

At this point, you should also be checked out by having a fertility work-up if not done so already...

You may need further treatments and sometimes when the sperm is in question, consideration can be given to do IVF+ICSI to get fertilization to occur and a subsequent pregnancy...

An IUI may also work and would depend much on the interpretation of the sperm's motility...
