Once you've had an ectopic, your risk is elevated to have another. However, you should still consider that you are still more likely to have an intrauterine pregnancy than an ectopic the next time you're pregnant...but even knowing that things are in your favor, you should still follow up immediately with your Ob/Gyn upon knowing you're pregnant to make sure it is not an ectopic. Unfortunately, nothing you can do to prevent an ectopic outside of getting your tubes removed, but then you would need In Vitro Fertilization to get pregnant and this is not a reasonable option for most people. As a funny side note, I've come to realize that if you look hard enough on the internet, then I'm sure you can find someone trying to sell some kookoo formula that may help prevent ectopics...but would be prudent to steer way clear from these :)
