Shortened LP after stillbirth

October 30, 2007

Hello,

My daughter was stillborn on February 10th due to a meconium infection in my placenta @35 weeks. She was otherwise very healthy. My husband and I have been TTC for 5 months with no luck. First AF was 28 days, then 25 days, then 23 days, then 25 days and now 22 days. It seems my luteal phase is shortening and I am concerned. I am taking Vitex and it has not helped me lengthen my LP. I discussed this with my OB/GYN and he says he is not concerned with my 22 day cycle. When I conceived my daughter my cycles were 22-24 days. My ClearBlue Easy Fertility monitor said I ovulated on CD 15 and today AF started on CD 23. I know an 8 day LP is not enough time for an embryo to implant. So I am seeing a Perinatologist this week for a follow up. What sorts of questions should I ask the Peri? What sort of suggestions do you have to lengthen my LP?

Thank you,

Sabrina

Hi Sabrina,

Welcome to FertilityTies :) We hope you find others going through the same in this community so that you can learn and support one another...

Your cycles are actually very regular, and does appear that your luteal phase is shortened, ask about using micronized vaginal progesterone for supplementation and/or the use of Clomid for this as this can also help luteal phase...

Take your medical records to the Perinatologist as there are many different tests that can be performed to make sure there isn't a test missing...Hope this info helps, and hope it'll work this time for you, and keep us posted...
