Shana's journey

October 22, 2007

I guess the best place to start is at the beginning. I am 23, and have tried to conceive in the past with an ex fiancee of mine, with no success. In 2002, I suffered a cyst rupturing on my right ovary. Had surgery to clean up the ruptured cyst and the blood it left behind, and was told everything was fine and I should have no problems concieving and carry a child full-term.

My periods had always been very heavy and would criple me due to the pain. However, they were regular.

In 2004, my doctor suggested depo shots to try and lighten my periods. However, the entire time I was on depo (last shot was in July, 2007), I never had a period.

I had surgery again in January 2007, this time a LEEP procedure. I was told that I would bleed afterwords for a few days, and I didnt even spot. The piece was sent off to be checked for cancer and came back non-cancerous.

However, since my last depo shot (which was in July 2007), my husband and I have been TTC. He has 3 kids from a previous marriage, so we do not feel a need to have him tested. I am scared that the not being able to conceive is due to something inside me, and have made a dr. appt for this friday (the 26th of october).

I know there is a waiting time after going off depo. But I have tried for 2 years (prior to depo) and been trying since last depo shot, and have yet to hear the "your pregnant" announcement.

I will be mentioning the possible use of medication to speed things along, at my next drs. appt. As well as getting tested to make sure all things are working as they should.

I will keep everyone posted on my journey and appreciate all the support and help I can get.

Hey!

It sounds like you have had a rough go of it so far. Hopefully things will be looking up soon. I also had a LEEP done and was a little scared about it after effects on my cervix. But I'm almost 6 weeks pregnant now so no problems thus far. Good Luck with your journey and keep up the positive attitude....it can really help. This site is great to keep you in good spirits! Take care and Baby Dust!
