Sex a Week

There is no set amount for what is "healthy". The national average, though, is once a week.

It really depends on what the couple prefers. Personally, if it were up to me, we'd probably do it at least 5-6 times a week. If it were up to the dh, we would probably do it 1 time a week. We meet in the middle though, and it usually happens 2 times a week.. sometimes 3 if I'm lucky.

Except right now.. I'm on pelvic rest and not supposed to have sex at all. But... after 2 1/2 weeks.. I finally had to give in and have sex once. I've only got 2 weeks and 1 day before I'm off pelvic rest..

Meghan you sound like me..I would do it everyday (at least once a day) my hubby he is ok with once or twice a week.

I was a real horn dog to say the least before getting preggo. My DH had a hard time keep ing up. My DH and I would have sex 5-6 times per week. Since getting preggo I lost my sex drive...I can't find it and I am still looking for it lol! Maybe I forgot it in Banff!! lol Now we have sex maybe 2X per week but I do it for him because I usually dont feel like it. I am almost out of my first trimester so I hope that changes.

Man.. I'm so glad to hear that other women's dh's can't keep up! It took me a long time to be able to cope w/ dh's sex drive.. b/c I thought there was something wrong that he wasn't in the mood as much as me.. and as much as other men I've been with! But some of you have a higher sex drive than your dh's too!! That is soooo comforting.. hehe.

Liane.. my dh would've been relieved if mine went away completely for a while! :o) Although, in the very beginning of my pregnancy... most of the first trimester really.... I wasn't in the mood nearly as often.... and when I was.. I prefered more to take care of it myself than actually have sex. Odd as that sounds!

Meghan you are funny. I go up and down. I could have sex about twice a week. Dh How works two jobs is happy with once every 2weeks. I am glad you guys have a higher sex drive than your dh as well as I never say no as we dont get to do it that often apart from when we a trying. So I felt like there was something wrong with me as other guys seem to want sex at least every day or every second day. So I did think Dh wasnt interested. He came back with as he has gotten old he it not as important as it was in his 20's

Ok ladies, I would be happy to have sex 1-2 times a week, the DH on the other hand wants it 1-2 times a day! He has NO problem doing that either....LOL He's 26, and I'm 24, so maybe age plays a roll in that....I hope he slows down one day!

Hi Girls, I WANT one big sex fest, but my dh complains and moans that I want it too much!! I mean come on, let that be the worst thing I do!!! My dh is in his forties, so I am really stuck!! LOL

i was just watching something on 20/20 last night about people that dont ever want sex...... they call themselves "A-sexuals" and dont have sex at all. They arent not doing it for religious reasons, just not doing it cuz they dont like it at all. I was shocked! Whatever makes ya happy i say!

I have a secret.... shhhhh.....I have never ever Initiated sex in my life, i feel all weird about doing that. Ive been married twice and its not that i dont like to have it i just dont want them to think i need it.... im such a weird-o. I tell my DH that i will never turn him down but i will never imitaite - poor guy! lol!

Sometimes we do it once or twice aday but then we can go days at a time without it coz his to tierd from working to jobs. Worst part is, it that its usually ovulation time that his to tired grrr...Have you ever noticed how if the guy is to tired then we leave them alone to sleep but if we are too tired then the guy cant seem to keep his hands of you. Hmmm or is that just shane. Either way I dont really mind at least it shows me how much he loves me and wants to 'be' with me :o)

wow I cant believe some of you girl want it and have it twice a day. I think that would kill my dh hehe. But I think it would be great to want it so so much.

This is such a neat post, because I usually don't get to talk about this to anyone.

DH and I have been married for a year... and 1 time a week is enough for us. Sometimes I wish it was a little more, but he would let it go 2 weeks if I didn't somewhat initiate it every once in a while.

He is in his late 30's and I'm in my mid 20's so I don't know if that has anything to do with it?

I don't like to initiate much either, cause often he isn't really in the mood and then I feel rejected. But if I reject him, he won't leave me alone until I finally give in. I have to because after all that attention then I start to want it. And thats what he always says... "You'll give in" :)

But not for him... he just lays there like a log, like nobody is even touching anything LOL. Crazy. I don't have any self control!

Liane- I totally get what you are saying! I too used to want it A LOT- luckily for me my hubby always did too! It was definitely a 5-7 time a week occurance- however since I've gotten pregnant...... I think we've had sex a total of 3 or 4 times. I just have NO interest! I am 15 weeks now- and I hope the sex drive kicks in soon... this is sooo not me!
