FertilityTies.com does NOT endorse or promote the use of any prescription fertility meds without being under supervision of their Physicians.

Thank you for reminding our members the importance of being under the care of a Physician, and not to self-medicate when it comes to prescription meds.
I get people telling me all the time that it is crazy that I am messing with God by seeking the help of an RE to get pregnant. It is cases like this that give infertility patients and Dr.s a bad name.
I wish these babies good health and that their parents would have used much better judgement. I dr would not have performed an IUI with that many follicles. It is just too dangerous!
I cant understand how in the world this lady ended up with 8 babies all sticking and thriving..... wow, one in a million chances.
There are plenty of people that we see on TV that have 4, 5 and 6 babies thru fertility treatments monioted by doctors tho. Not ideal.
Although i do not know this familys struggles or story i can tell you that at a certain point you kinda lose your mind and will try anything, absolutley anything, to have a baby, or more.
Not a great idea to self-medicate, obvioulsy, but im sure a lot of us can relate to why she would do something like that.
Quote:
"The drugs had initially been prescribed to her by a private hospital in Birmingham to treat her polycystic ovaries, a condition that can cause infertility.
But after a series of miscarriages, Mandy continued to take the drugs without proper medical supervision - a decision that seems perilously close to recklessness.
The reason is now all too tragically clear: had Mandy been under the care of doctors, she would have been scanned to ensure she had not produced too many eggs."
