I had a Boyfriend 4 years back give me an infection.I end up hospitalized and with pid.I'm now going on 23 and married and want to have children. What are the odds that I will have children with the pid and some scarring in my tubes. Is it possible I never will have children. And what are some great things I can do to help me get pregnant and more fertile. Is there ways to get the scarring out?

Valdena,

PID (Pelvic Inflammatory Disease) is a risk factor for having blocked tubes. The only way to know at this point would be to have a hysterosalpingogram (HSG)-you can read about this by searching this site.

Even if your tubes are open, you're at high risk for having an ectopic, and would highly recommend you be under the immediate care of a doc who can monitor you closely as soon as the hpt turns positive to make sure the pregnancy is ok.

If your tubes are blocked from the PID, surgical removal of the scarring may help, but only a small proportion of the time. It would be more recommendable that you get IVF to try and get pregnant and you would have an extraordinarily high pregnancy rate.
