Okay, when you get there, they put in the IV and check your vitals, all standard. Then for me, they applied this gel to my cervix to help soften it and get me to dilate. I was only 1cm when I arrived. Once they apply that they can't do anything else for 12 hrs. For me, it was a waste of time. It did nothing for me. After that they started the pitocin and I started getting contractions, they keep upping the dose every few hours. They'll break your water as soon as they can and that will help move you along too. I got the epidural as soon as I could, around 3 or 4cm if I remember right. Ahhhh heaven, after that :) For me, it took Cameron 27 hrs to decide he wanted to come out. My first pregnancy when I was induced it only took 12 hrs, but I think this one took longer cuz they wasted the first 12 hrs with gel to soften my cervix.
