SA results

August 14, 2008

Hi,

My dh received his SA results today.

Everything was in the 'normal' range except the morphology which was '94% abnormal forms'. The doctor advised him that theres no need for concern yet and to re-take the test in a couple of weeks, if the results are the same then we will be refered to a specialist. I've been reading some info about this and it appears there is no proven cure to help sperm morphology.

This makes me very sad and i wanted to ask what are chances are of us conceiving naturally?

Many thanks.

So, with a low morphology, chances are very low of conceiving naturally, good news is that with IVF and Injection of the sperm into the egg this problem is easily fixed, bad news is that IVF is expensive and if you can't afford it then it is probably not an option. I would not wait a couple of weeks, I would retake the test with 2-3 days of abstinence if it is the same then get the referral to the specialist immediately.

Natasha..to add to the message I sent you back, my dh had 6% normal morphology and not only did we conceive our son on the first try naturally..even tho we ttcd number 2 for 2 yrs..thru ivf we found out it was me who had immature eggs...not an issue with dh's sperm, because we didn't even have to do icsi, where they inject the sperm into the egg...they put the egg in a dish with the sperm, and it happened naturally..with 6% morph!

Hi!!! I second Kelli's post.......my dh has 8%morph on the strict krueger scale. It took us a little while and we had to time things right, but we have a 8 week old little boy! The whole process is nerve wracking and when you see the morph results it can make it worse, but it can happen naturally with low morph!!! caden is living proof! take care and message me if you need any info or look at my profile! hugs and baby dust!
