August 13, 2008

Hi there,i don't seem to get egg-white consistency cervical mucus before ovulation due to PCOS, just watery, lotiony mucus. Does robitussin help with ervical mucus? Thankyou

Hi Naomi yes it is suppose to help look for regular Robitussin and make sure it has Guiafenesin...that is the stuff that helps with cm.

yup, my OB said they tell people that are on 100mg or more of clomid to take it as well to help with CM.

Good luck with it all!!

When do you start taking it to help the CM production-like how many days ahead of time? What CD? I notice that I do not always get EWCM either.

i think you take it 5 or 6 days before ovulation and then stop after ovulation for sure.

Im sure you could take it from day 1 until ovulation and it would be fine too :)

I get EWCM but its like 5 days before ovulation and then its like lotion the day of ovulation - figures! LOL!

Thats how mine is Chels.. EWCM is before O like by 4 days.. then it gets thicker on O day and the day before.. I often wonder if this is my problem conceiving..

shoot with my age I'm really getting to worry now but oh well what can you do...crap happens and life goes on like I have written before I'm blessed no matter what but it would be sad to not see my wonderful dh being a father and omg he would make a wonderful father indeed...he makes a perfect husband!!!!

you have a great outlook hun! YOu guys would be great parents thats for sure!

Do you have any animals to spoil and pretend they are your children? :)

We have 2 dogs that we consider part of the family. The girl dog has a santa dress for xmas and a fancy collar but not a bunch of clothes. Kids have a guinea pig that is riot and we used to have 2 cats but DH is allergic and had to get rid of them - boo hoo :(

I had a ferret years ago that i just loved - he was so much fun but we were afraid the dogs would go after the little guy so we didnt buy another one, went with the Guinea pig instead!

awww thank you love...omg no pets I cannot do that again and the cost of taking care of them is so high here...you have to have insurance on them and we go on short holidays loads of times...that is our love of life....travel. Don't get me wrong I love animals and would love to have a farm but just the cost of care and the time is too much. When I moved her I had 2 pets and I had to leave them behind with friends and it broke my heart. No animals no way then just wait a lil stray will find it's way to me and I will keep it I do those things. lol

ladies..wasnt sure if you knew this but grapefruit juice (if you can stand it) is awesome for CM...i have been drinking it for a few months...i increase the intake around 6 days before O and just keep drinking it with alot of water and green tea throughout the day...atleast its all natural too....i have PLENTY of EWCM....and mine is also around 4 days or so before i o and just before that i get a little but thinner...more watery...its been 13 months of TTC for me but i know its not lack of EWCM in my case- i only have one tube :(

good luck ladies!!!!

i believe we get the fertile cm a few days ahead of time so the sperm will survive while waiting for the egg..once you ovulate -it usually slows down...
