reversal vasectomy

July 05, 2008

Hi

My husband had a reversal 2 years ago his results were a 50 50 chance of us getting pregnant, do you thinnk that we have lost our chance now being so long?

July 05, 2008

Tammy- I was under the impression that after 6 months after a VR- scar tissue develops making conception difficult

Thanks Caryn, i have heard so many stories over the years im so confused, my dr said we would be ok for another year at least but im having doubts but keeping my hopes close to me with my dreams.

Very helpful ty for answering me

If after two years with you having regular periods, and even more so if we know that your tubes are open, then you should seek the help of an RE for possible IVF

July 06, 2008

Thank yu for your replies, im afraid i dont have regular cycles so its a bit hit and miss lol.

Chrissy ((((hugs)))) back hun its so frustrating as you know xx

Im not sure if the results look the same as im in England but here goes...

There not pretty lol

Volume: 2ml PH: 8.0

Appearence: normal

Liquefication: complete

Consistancy: Normal

Motility

Rapid progression: 1%

Slow progression: 1%

Non-progressive motility: !%

Immotile 97%

Morphology: normal %

Defects 96%

Total sperm density 29.5 millions/ml

As you can see it does not look good, it was only tested once and we have had to keep on to our doc to have another test, he said wait a year and now we are fed up with keeping on about it.

July 06, 2008

Hi Tam this is what you are looking for with a sa...but remember a true sa results are usually 2 between 2 1/2 mths....

Volume: => 2 ml

Motility: => 50 %

Count / Concentration: => 20 million / ml

Morphology: => 14 % normal

*WHO Morphology standards in 1987: => 50 % normal, and in 1992: => 30 % normal

Thankyou angelfish...

Doesnt look good does it x

Thanks for the help it is appreciated we only ever had one test two years ago, i think we have lost our chance, how my doc can say we have a 50/50 chance i dont know?.

July 06, 2008

you are very welcome...it is time for him to test again esp with his situation that would be the best..then you know what you are dealing with...

July 06, 2008

i so agree with you its the doctor that said we dont want another test??? he is a nightmare and money isnt there to any more private treatment as we used it all for the reversal.

I will try to push again though, so helpful ty x

July 06, 2008

Good luck hope all goes well

July 06, 2008

I so understand your situation. Time to change dr's esp in the uk you know how it is they don't want to be bother...basically they don't want to do the job they decided THEY wanted to do. If you can move to another clinic...we are in the UK also and have gone private and finally found a wonderful dr and omg he loves what he does. Go private!!!!!

July 06, 2008

ty ttc good luck to you to x

Thanks again angelfish xx

I am going to take it all on board and have a re-think and some saving by the looks of it, you are s right about the docs they are writing you off as soon as you sit down.
