really bad pain in pelvic area after sex? 5 weeks pregnant?

me and my husband had sex this after noon at about 2:45 and we were not rough or anything and all of a sudden i started hurting. it was like cramping but so much worse than that. like a constant stabbing pain on my left side like where my ovary is. there has not been any spotting though. well this pain is just now starting to wear off by now and its a little over an hour later. is this normal to experience pains like this in early pregnancy? i am 5 weeks today. i never had anything like this with DD
