Just thought I would let you know that I have similar pains. Usually when my little sweetie is kicking the top of my cervix... (he keeps his feet right on top of it!!!).. but sometimes even when he isn't moving.... and so far everything has been fine with mine. I'm 23 weeks now.
Question about sharp pains
February 09, 2008
Hi Dr Q
Well I am now in week 19.Due to my last multiple pregnancy they are watching me really close .I go to the special pregnancy program every week for ultrasounds to check the baby and my cervix. The cervix looks fine and they say they are not worried. They also said that multiple pregnancies are much different then single and place you in high risk.SO they would of been worried if it multiples again .
My actual question though is that I occasionally get sharp pain in my vagina they are not consisitent and do go away .My gyno says that you sometimes may feel that when the baby is jumping due to where it's sitting I guess...but I have never heard that before.IT is not the same pain I felt in my last pregnancy. My last pregnancy the pain was consistent and it felt not like a sharp pain but an actual muscel openning and closing (whihc ended up being my cervix opening ) and I had two emergency cerglages due to that )
Just wondering is that type of sharp inconsistent pain common .
Secondly can you tell me at how many weeks is the fetus viable or has a better chance of surviving outside the womb ?
Thanks

after 23 weeks, survival is possible, with about 50% survivial at 24wks, and 85% survival at 28 wks...
