Hi Dr.Q! I just found out I'm pregnant a few days ago! I think I'm about 5-6 weeks along, I still have to see a doctor to confirm it though. But my question is, I lift a few boxes at work today and wondered if that's safe or not? They weren't super heavy but they werent' really light boxes..I'm just worried I set myself up for a miscarriage..What should I do? Thanks!

There's little risk of miscarriage when lifting moderate size weights. We don't encourage you to lift heavy weights that do require significant straining, also because your joints in pregnancy are a little more relaxed, and muscular/joint pains/strains can be more common. If it does wind up being too heavy, talk to your Gyn who may give you a modified work permit release slip.
