question about ovulation and follicle growth

I am on CD14 today, yesterday I went to see the doctor and an u/s was done to check follicle size..it was 1.76cm so the doctor told me that i would probably ovulate within the next 48 hours..well i have yet to see my monitor change to peak fertility..it has been on high since CD8..i took clomid 50mg CD4-8...and find myself getting alittle discouraged that i have not hit peak yet...with a follicle that size do you think i should ovulate soon?

Last month, I had a follie study and on a Friday, I was at 16mm
The next monday, I was at 20mm.
Now, I did a trigger shot, so I ovulated about 36 hours after the trigger... all to time for an IUI.
PERSONALLY, I think that expecting ovulation 48 hours after a 17mm follie is pushing it. I personally wouldn't expect it for at least 3 days.
Are you on Clomid?
