Hi Doctor how are you?
I was hoping you could answer a little question for me. I have just started to check my cervix before and after ovulation only I dont know what the differences between them mean. Can you explain them to me please. Before ovulation my cervix felt low and I ovulated on the 30th sept. as I used an opk and it was posisitive. Now a few days later my cervix is a lot higher. What does this mean I know how stupid am I but I never checked this to know. Is it the way it goes normally or is this it the way it goes when its a pregnancy. I would greatly appreciate your advice. Thanks.

Quite honestly, even most Ob/Gyns out there wouldn't know the difference between changes/positions associated with ovulation. For as much as you may have read on the net (from many "experts" who are not REs), these findings are of little to no clinical significance...not only that, you would have to be really good at tracking these changes within your own body...something that can take several months to do (and hopefully by then you're pregnant), and many people don't check this.
Basically, Progesterone we know can cause muscle/uterine/ligament relaxation and this hormone is present post ovulation and during pregnancy, giving one the sense that it may have dropped. It's too early to determine a pregnancy or for your body to pick it up. So for now, let's focus on the OPK, since it turned positive, this is a better indicator, and we wish you the best of luck...
