Provera and heavy period..

Hey Doc! I took Provera to bring on a period. I took it for 5 days and on the 4th day after taking, I started my period. It was extremely heavy and painful and lots of clotting. I was temping before and during this time and I think I ovulated right during the Provera. My question is.. Why was the period sooo terrible? Does that mean I have excess lining or something? I am currently in my two week wait (DPO 7). I am very concerned about the pain and amount of menstrual blood. What are you thoughts? Thank you very much :)

Yes, sometimes you get heavy periods because you had great estrogen exposure that created the eventual flow you just had. I wouldn´t be too concerned about this one time event, but if it has happened on numerous occasions, then would consult your gyne for further evaluation
