I am currently seeing a fertility specialist and had blood taken on cd3. They found out that i have high levels of prolactin (39.4) It is my first cycle on clomid (50mg)as well. In an ultrasound on cd11 they found out i had one follicle measuring at 13mm on the left side and also a cyst measuring at 31mm on the left side. No real prominent follicles. What does all this mean and what are my chances of conceiving this month? thanks
thanks for your comments...i was really disappointed to find out both of these factors this month. I wonder if the clomid coudl have caused the cyst? I am going for a fasting prolactin on cd3 to test my levels again and then will have my treatment changed i guess....

I do have regular periods and I ovulate each month (using OPKs and blood monitoring at the fertility clinic). I wonder if clomid could be a cause - it is my first month on the drug. it is so depressing each month to get BFN's - we are now on month 10.

that is great news chick - i am so hoping for your BFP. This is my first month finding out about my high levels of prolactin - so i am expecting another BFN. I will have the fasting prolactin on cd3 and then hoepfully will have a plan once the results are in. Do you have any other known causes of infertility besides the prolactin? As far as i know - DH and I have no other known causes - except age perhaps (I am 36).

my prolactin has been back to normal now for 6 months but still see the doctor to have it checked i have just had a hsg which showed both tubes open which i am happy about i am 23 and hopeing for a bfp soon

The cyst may keep you from ovulating this cycle, unless this is a follicle that is about to rupture, which can be the case....only by checking an LH, Estradiol, Progesterone to determine if this is the case..
