when one's prolactin level is normal, without milky discharge (galactorrhea) or missing periods, then it's ok to conceive and not affect fertility..

Older models of labs couldn't detect accurately Prolactin levels since there's different types of Prolactin, so this used to be more of a problem, but usually not anymore..

How long ago was that? Are your periods regular?

Mine was 20 to start and then three months later it was closer to 40.

You should retest and keep an eye on it.

If your periods are monthly then i wouldn't worry about it. Mine were once every 55 days or more. So i had to go on Dostinex

Hi psm, No my periods are/were not normal. I have pcos and don't ovulate on my own. I have been getting periods every 30 days sense I started clomid and have been ovulating. The 10.4 result was from Aug 07, thats when I 1st started ttc w/ the help of an RE. What does it mean that ur levels were so high?

If your levels are too high then you need to go on medication to lower them. It is basically tricking your body into thinking its pregnant.

If you are ovulating however, i think your fine.

10 months ago my prolactine was 2322 had to go on meds it did't stop me ovulating but coursed a small tumor on the pituarty glad but all is fine now

psmcmm i was on dostinex / cabergoline thats what broght my prolactine down

1 1/2 months on meds to bring my prolactin levels down and i'm preggo! Hubby and i tried for 2 1/2 years and little did we know that my prolactin levels were elevated and after giving birth 4 years ago i was still able to get the milky discharge from my nips. The medicine i was on started with a b... i can let you know the name when i get home :)

did you have to have a m.r.i what were your levels mine were 2322 back to normal now

I had an MRI

did it show any think mine showed a small tumor the size of a pea

I didn't have to have an MRI... My levels were only near 40.
