Progesterone Suppository and HPT

Hi Dr. Q,

I'm currently 10 dpo and taking progesterone suppositories. My question is, at what point do I stop taking them if I don't get a BFP? If my period is due 14 dpo and the test is negative on that day, should I stop taking the progesterone? If I do happen to be pregnant but it hasn't shown up yet on a HPT will stopping the progesterone hurt anything?

This is just my guess, but Im guessing if you have a negative HPT then you stop taking them- or if AF starts. And NO it doesn not change what will show up on the HPT... the HPT is looking for HCG not progesterone, so you will be fine :)

my doc brings me in for a preggo test at 12DPO and if its negative then i can stop taking the prog suppositories so i would assume that if you get a sensitive test and test at home you can stop if you get a - at 14DPO. Then in about 2 or 3 days you will have your period.
