Pregnant with twins

Congrats starfish on your twins! I'm also pregnant with twins. I'm 20 weeks exactly today. I found out a little more than a week ago that both babies are boys. I know what you mean about excited and nerve racking at the same time. It definitely can be a little more scary to be pregnant with twins but oh I can't wait for twice the joy.

My twins are now 15 months old. I know from personal experience how scary being pregnant with twins is! You ladies will do great! Keep the faith and enjoy the pregnancy as much as possible because before you know it it is over! Once the babies arrive a whole new amazing journey begins. You will have challenges and rough roads but I promise there is a light at the end of the tunnel! My advice is to take things one day, one hour and sometimes one minute at a time! ((HUGS)) To you both and HUGE CONGRATS!! Twins are a wonderful blessing and I wouldn't trade my experience for the world!

Thanks so much Inga and Mommy! :) I know that everyone is different, but I was wondering if you got back even some of your energy during your 2nd trimester. Right now I'm usually in bed by 7:30 every night and am asleep less than 5 minutes later. :) I'm definitely more excited than scared to be having twins and I'm looking forward to watching my belly grow! Today was the first day that I put on a pair of my work pants and could button them at all. Thank goodness for the "tummy sleeve" that I bought at the Motherhood Maternity store. I think it's time to retire these pants for awhile. :)

Inga - That's wonderful that you're having 2 boys! Did you have a feeling that you would be having 2 boys or 2 girls or 1 of each before you officially found out? I'm kinda pulling for 2 girls, but as we know that's not up to me. Hee Hee!

Mommy - Congrats to you for having twins too! What are their sexes? My best friend of 26 years has identical twin boys who are 10 years old now. She has told me the exact same things that you've said and she wou;dn't trade it for the world either. In fact, she has a 5 and a 3 year boy as well and she always wished they had been twins too because it was just a fun experience with her first 2 boys. Thanks for the positive comments!! :)

I did get much of my energy back after the first trimester I would say starting around 13-14 weeks. I loved watching my belly grow and too a picture of it every 2 weeks and put it in the kids album so that they can see it for themselves!! By 12 weeks I was in all maternity clothes and could not fit into any of my regular ones. The positive thing is that I did get back down to my regular weight and am back in my "skinny" jeans! Twins keep you hoping and it just fell off for me and I put on 55 lbs! One thing I should mention is that you ladies should be using Bio-oil 2X per day in order to help with you skin stretching. It wasn't even the stretch marks that were back but the stretched skin that lost all of its elasticity. Bio-oil has improved the look of my stomach 100% since the were born and I wished I would known about it when I was pregnant. It will help tons, I promise!!!

I have 1 boy and 1 girl (Tyson & Tessa). They are so much fun and I love them so much! Twins are a lot of work but so much fun. I love watching them interact!

Where do you buy Bio-oil? That's a great tip!! I'm thin (or at least I was until recently) :) and so anything to help with skin stretching would be a big help! I did go to Target this afternoon and I bought my first pair of maternity jeans. They are super comfy!! I have a feeling I'll be following in your foot steps and won't ber able to wear my regular clothes w/in the next week or so.

I'm actually feeling better now. No more m/s which I had until 16 weeks and not so tired. I'm tired when I get home from work, but not as sleepy. Some days I don't even take a nap. Which is totally different from the first trimester.

I thought I was pregnant with a boy and a girl which would have been ideal. I did really want a girl. Now I am totally thrilled with the idea of having two boys. I hope they end up being best buddies.

I've been in maternity clothes since 9 or 10 weeks. I have a very impressive belly already. I look 8 or 9 months pregnant. I know everybody is different though. I need to get some Bio-Oil- I don't want stretch marks, but if I get them I don't care. I'm 38 so my bikini days would probably be over anyways.

Bio oil can be found at wamart or target or any drug store. Is about $11.00 but very worth it! I am small too but have never been a bikini girl either way! It wasn't the stretch marks that were the worst it was the "twin skin"...that was disappointing!

Star - I am doing well. I am now 14 weeks. I can't believe it's really true still! Going to OB tongiht for monthly check up. Still feel nervous each time I go. Been feeling pretty good except for some problems sleeping. The nausea of the first trimester seems to be gone. I did wind up vomiting a bit at the beginning of the second trimester but (fingers crossed) that seems to be going away. How about you? Glad to have found you! (you left us singleton gals for your new twin friends! - totally kidding!) Hope you are doing well! :)
