pregnancy tests

well i'm a week late on my period, and i took a home pregnancy and it was positive and then a couple of days later i took another one and it was negative. my doctor is away for 2 weeks, so i'm unsure of what to do?

If you take another hpt and still negative, this is what's known as a chemical pregnancy, in that it unfortunately didn't develop...you will then get a period within a few days..
