Pregnancy HCG Levels at 5 weeks pregnant

Pregnancy
Blondie82

July 22, 2009

So I went for my blood work this Monday to confirm pregnancy, HCG came back @ 202 they sent me back today for another HCG and it came back at 493.9, was told that they would have a MD call me (my MD is on vacation) do we know why a MD would call me back? My levels went up more then the 66%. Is 493.9 a good reading for 5 weeks pregnant?

Not sure Blondie, those numbers sound good to me..i was 4 weeks 4 days and my HCG was 450..at 5 weeks it was 2013...its sounding good so far..maybe the Doc just wants to discuss a date for a ultrasound maybe??? Or just the steps of what they will be doing next...im not sure...:-)Congrats!

Sometimes no one other than the MD can tell you what the results mean. They prob just want your MD to tell you the next thing you will need to do..Good Luck and Congrats!

Oh!! i had one too in August of 08...i didnt get pregnant again until this April....What they are doing is monitering ur HCG levels, prolly when the number gets to 1800 or higher they will do a ultrasound...to rule out a Ectopic...thats what they did for me and we got a lil bean 15 weeks today! :-) You will be ok...HCG usually rises slowly in Ectopics and urs doubles nicely...Ill keep u in my prayers <3

At my doctor's office, their policy is that the doctor calls you with the confirmation that your beta has doubled & that you're officially pregnant (the nurse sometimes gives out the 1st beta). Then the doc would give some instructions, ask about any symptoms, answer questions, etc. Congrats!!

Blondie...i found out Mothers Day i was pregnant..1st beta was the very next day, Monday..it was 450. Then my 2nd beta that Friday was 2013..they told me it doubled nice and most likely NOT Ectopic but a Ultrasound must still be done to 100% confirm such. since my numbers looked good my ultrasound wasnt stat..i had it the following Wed. they saw both my sacs in my uterus...determining it Wasnt Ectopic...this was 5 weeks 6 days along..then at 7 weeks 4 days, i had another ultrasound for heartbeat check...we saw both sacs again plus the baby and its HB :-)
