I am still in the preconception stage. But I wanted to know what medications can be taken during pregnancy for high blood pressure and high tryglycerides. I currently am taking Zestoretic and Lopid. I plan on seeing my PCP next week for alternative medications... but was wondering if anyone knew of any.
In addition what can help ensure the health of my kidneys during pregnancy. I had accute renal failure nearly 15 years ago. Since then I have been diagnosed with very early renal disease. I see a specialist about once a year.
Thanks!

You will be at high risk during pregnancy given your renal disease, as pregnancy can complicate this and or develop Pregnancy Induced Hypertension. Ask your PCP to do a Bun/Cr level and also a 24hr urine protein/Cr level to have a baseline prior to starting pregnancy, as is something to discuss these risks with them...Good luck, and keep us posted...
