Do you monitor your cycles for ovulaion via opk's or temps? If you do then you can check for preg any where after 12dpo. Some ladies do check earlier but I have heard that 12dpo is the genral recommanded day.

Also if you have irregular periods you may went to see a doctor and be checked for endometriosis and polycystic overian syndrom as both these can cause irregular periods.

flutter is correct, and checkin for OPKs can tell you when you'll ovulate..

if you've been ttc for over a year, best to see a doc who can do testing and/or provide treatments for you to get pregnant...
