Plz help me abt hsg

Anybody can u plz tell ur hsg experience. Is it very much painfull. will it pain while inserting the catherer. I think i can tolerate the stomach pain but i dont think i would tolerate if it is very painull while inserting the cathere. i have hsg test today and iam nervous. Kindly help me. Also i would like to know. wat else they would find out from this hsg. My ultrasound results shows that my uterus is normal in shape and measuring the normal size. do u think will there be any other abnormalities in my uterus. kindly help me soon iam very nervous

They will use the dye to make sure the tubes are nice and open. Taking advil about a half hour prior will help. Its really not too bad...just minor cramping like af cramps. Good luck!

It only hurts a little when they blow up the balloon, but it's really quick. Take 800 MG if Ibuprofin an hour before you go. It will be ok.

Thanks kelli and wannabe. Hsg has been completed successfully. I had very little pain while inserting the dye its very quick and tolerable. Both my tubes were open and the dye spilled out quckly. They told me not to bd for 2 weeks.

Let me know wat will be the next procedure after this

it may actually be best to BD for this ovulatory cycle to get pregnant

IS it but that gyne who performed the HSG told me not to bd for 2 weeks from 2day. It will cause infection she told. Also i was not given any antibiotics.

My doc told me to takeblood test on 2nd day after my period and come for appointment. Wat can i do now

I just had mine done not too long ago and my doctor told me to wait 24 hours. From my understanding, woman becomes more fertile after HSG since the dye cleans the system out. good luck and baby dust going your way!

i had mine 3 weeks 2day and i bd 2 days after the hsg.

My doc also never told that not to bd after hsg. I agree with Angie. 2 weeks!!! whyyyyyyyy?

I had an HSG last month and was just told to wait 24 hours - but I was on antibiotics so that may be why. Also - I DO think it increases your chances. I got my first + HPT that month after 16 months of negatives- tho unfortunately it ended as a chemical (unrelated to the HSG). Good luck!

But they din give me any antibiotics. Your replies seem to be very supportive and gives me a great confident. I BD around my ovulation date and let me see how this month goes. Thank u for every body
