Hi Dr. Q.. I have some stress today.. my last period i had was on jan 10. it lasted for 6 days and was brown. it was very light and the 5-6 day it was just spots. so i'm on my cd21 today when i found out that i just blood...red blood and not spotty. my ovulation was supposely the 24th, and today is only the 30th so it wasn't 14 days past O. Is that possible?? I'm not irregular, so i need help. I don't even know how long my cycles are anymore. I need some SERIOUS advice about this... Thank you!!!!!!!!

Hi Raenathan,

The only way to truly know what's going on "a bleed from a period" would be to follow your cycles with OPKs and or BBTs...Then you can really know and feel more comfortable with your cycles..

Rae, I would think even the Jan 10th period looks to be like a breakthru bleed and not a regular one with just the brown spotting. It means u have likely not ovulated before Jan 10th as well..Like Dr Q says, only OPK or BBT can really tell if this is a period or not..

okay thanks hope... but then if the jan 10 period was just a breakthrough then that means my cycle from dec 15 till today was one whole cycle???? I don't understand!

Rae, just google for how to do the BBT. will tell u some instructions. there are some rules abt it. Like u shud atleast get 3 hrs of uninterrupted sleep, dont open ur mouth while sleeping, ambiet temperature etc. Take it at the same time every day as soon as u open ur eyes before doing anything else.. Yes..But some women take it vaginally too. But yes orally is good enough. After taking the temp u gotta enter the readings to get a graph. U can do that in www.fertilityfriend.com
