PCOS symptoms?

What are some of the symptoms of PCOS? I know having trouble getting pregnant and that you may not be ovulating but what else?

Your cycles can be EXTREMELY irregular. I have PCOS and dont ovulate on my own. I didnt know that until after 6 months of trying to get pregnant then to find out that we never could have. My cycles were super irregular anywhere from 45-60days. My periods were like periods while on Birth Control as well.

Wishing you the best. I did 5 rounds of clomid and now im 15weeks pregnant.

Goodluck!

Congrats! I'm not ovulating. Currently on cycle day 57, but I have hypo-thyroidism and this is a common symptom. Can't help but wonder if this could be my prob too.

Only way of knowing is going to your doctor they can run some tests and do an ultrasound to tell. My doctor did an ultrasound and thats where it was for sure I have PCOS.

Wishing you the best and thanks, it took a while and so much confusion but we are super excited and it was worth the wait and 5 rounds of clomid, and a miscarriage on the 4th round of clomid!

Jolene..

What were some of the symptoms you were having?

I have regular periods... but other than an irregular period.. What did you feel like?

Did you get leg cramps in your thighs,

I have been feeling kind of sick and I'm worried.

I never have had symtpoms either. I had no idea I had it. Only thing I thought was my cycles were soo irregular because of getting off the pill, but as the 3 month mark went by and still very irregular, I started to wonder what was going on, but I never in a million years would have thought it was fertility problems and I wasnt ovulating and never could have gotten pregnant during that time.

Im not insulin resistant, I did start to gain weight after getting off the pill, but this time it was very gradually. From March 2007-March2008, I gained like 15-20 pounds before getting pregnant. Its from my PCOS. Everytime I would stop taking birthcontrol when I was younger to either switch to something different and just take a couple months, I always gained weight, and I always thought it was so weird that I gained weight getting off but once I got on the birth control, no matter what kind it was I lost weight. Everyone else I know it was oposite. But again never thought anything of it, just thought wow im kinda lucky that I dont gain it while im on it.

So besides irregular periods anywhere from CD45-60, and weight gain, nothing really.

I'm wondering if I have PCOS. I'm going to ask my doctor when I go on the 7th to test for it. I want to know. He seems to think I'm just not ovulating but my symptoms are just like you guys! I bet you I have it. Been TTC for over 2 years so I bet you thats why... Im def. going to ask. for sure.

I have PCOS and after I went of BCP I never had a period. I went 8 months with no AF. PCOS is essentially an endocrine disorder that effects many differnt hormones in the body depending on the individual person's severity.

I had no idea I had PCOS until recently despite 2 ruptured ovarian cysts in my teen years, but after I decided to do some research and review some medical records I had many symptoms which can include: irregular or absent cycels, weight gain or obesity in your middle - which is often due to Insulin Resistance, pearl like ovaries on U/S, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and improper hormone ratios - just to name a few.

If you think you may have PCOS I urge you to ask your Dr. about it. My Family Dr. kept saying it was no big deal that I hadn't had a period in 6 months so I saw an OBGYN to get a second opnion and he said that for every month that I was off BCP and not ovulating by chances of concieving decreased. So I am glad I went to see someone with a little more knowldege!

I hope that you have it so its an somewhat easy fix. Clomid or Femara can really help. I know it did for me. Took 5 rounds but it worked. I was lucky to find out early on in TTC about having PCOS it was only because I had an annual PAP at our 6month mark of TTC and thats when I got diagnosed. But again had no idea. I was having periods, but they were every 45-60days and were very light. But heck I didnt know.

Wishing you the best and please keep us posted!
