Pcos and long menstruation?

I have pcos and I didn't have my period for 3 months .. I started it finally about 12 days ago, and it started as a light flow for about 8 days which I thought was weird.. no clots or anything.. then over the past 4 days it's become heavier and I have been having clots and cramps almost like a normal period but very long! like the light days were longer the heavier days were longer...

why would this happen? I know women who have pcos too and the ones that bleed for long periods of time usually just have spotty type or light bleeding the whole time.

why is mine getting worse? does this mean it will go away?

I am afraid of bleeding for months :(

I have a fertility specialist appointment in 5 days I wanted to be done my period by then!
