PCOS

Can you have PCOS and then it go away? or do you always have it once you have been diagnosed?

I was diagnosed with PCOS about 15 years ago but after going into the military and losing alot of weight I no longer have irregular periods, and my ultrasounds all look normal now? I was told by one doctor that I was misdiagnosed, because he saw no evidence of PCOS.

Another question, what does it mean if you have lotiony, creamy CM almost your whole cycle, I understand that consistency comes from progeseron, which is usually present after ovulation, what does it mean if you seem to have it all the time? No odor, no itching or irritation.

Thank you for you time.

PCOS is usually due to having increased weight, and can go away after weight loss, just like your case...

If you're ovulating (having regular periods), then believe it or not, there should be changes in the consistency and/or ability to streatch it during your fertile days...sometimes takes lots of practice to determine these subtle changes, and your cm should be ok...

Every once in awhile I will get the EWCM but it only seems to last a few hours, never all day or several days in a row. I do have regular periods but sometimes they are 28 days and sometimes 31 days, but I usually start on the same date every month, so more often 31 days. Even on days that I have the EWCM later it turns into the lotiony creamy consistency. I just wonder if this is a sign of anything bad, or that I may have a hostile vaginal environment? Thanks for taking the time to answer my question.

is it a thick or thin creamy? I remember I had a thick creamy CM before and it turned out to be a bacterial infection. good luck and I hope it nothing to worry about.

Michelle, This has happened to me as well. Ive had regular periods and due to sudden weight gain, my periods disappeared for a whole year and I was diagnosed with PCOS with all the tests indicating the same. I lost about 40 lbs and though Im not back to my original weight, I got back into the normal BMI range, got my periods back, took all the tests a year later and no sign of PCOS. I even got preggo..So, weight gain does trigger PCOS and can get rid of it.

Hey if u have a regular 28-31 day cycle with full flow and no spotting/brown blood then u are most likely ovulating. EWCM comes 3-4 days before ovulation...

Also like Doll8face says if its of suspicious consistancy, could be yeast or some infection best is to get it checked especially if theres odor.
