Ovulation tests

December 28, 2007

Ok, my question is, i was married recently and we've been discussing having a baby in the next year or two and well, i was curious to see if and when i ovulate so i used some left over ovulation tests froma friend and took them and they all came back inconclusive, and I was just wondering why? Is it because they were old or i really am not ovulating?

I dont know much about OPKs but I know the strips I bought says only lasts 30 days from the day you open them so the ones you used may have been old already. I wouldnt jump the gun to think you are not ovulating. Why dont you take your bbt, and that will give you a good idea if you are O. Good luck.

Shelly,

I have to say I am a pro with OPK's and the fertility monitor, I bought so many I should have a vested stock in them, LOL

You should start testing about or around day five of your cycle until you get a positive result. You will need a brand new box because some women's cycles are longer than others.

My suggestion is if you want to have children in the next year or two I honestly would start trying now. If I had known I was going to have so much trouble I would have started so much earlier, I took for granted that I could conceive.

Hope this helps
