ovulation testing

hi heather im not sure if i just got away plain lucky. i used to test with 1st sample of the day at around (9 am im a late riser). and it worked fine for me every single month for 10 months. But I have heard doctors NOT recommend the first sample, so probably u may have missed it.

Although there may be a very small possibility of missing it, most people don't even when checking the first sample (even though it's not necessarily recommended to check with first sample). Hang in there Heather, and if you don't ovulate this month, you may have to go on a higher dose next month, and we're always here to help

Can anyone tell me why the first urine is not recommended?

because the LH stars secreting early in the day like around 3 am or so and either the concentration may be too high to give a false reading or there wasnt enough time for it to show in ur urine.

I don't know if I am the only one but how in the world do you hold it for 4 hours without drinking or going to the bathroom???

unfortunately yeah if u wanna get accurate results. It helps if u dont think abt drinking water or going to the loo he he

Thanks HopeN...I think that I have a pigme(spelling) bladder anyway... When do you test? Maybe if I test later in the afternoon it will be easier to hold on... he he...

we did our tests a few times a day starting day 12 into my partners cycle. we found really affordable tests on line and went to town because we did not want to miss the surge!!! and it worked we timed it right and we are pregnant!!!
