OVULATION CRAMPS-

July 15, 2008

I have questions

Do one always ovulate on the side they feel the most cramps?

Is it possible to tell which side your ovulating on other than a U/S?

Do women ovulate from one tube only every month? how often will one ovulate from each tube?

Ultrasound is definately the best way of determining where the mature follicle is growing and will ovulate..

In young healthy patients, most of the time the egg ovulates from the contralateral side each month, and some women can determine this via cramps

what do contralateral side each month means?

I think it means every other side. Like one month ovulate from your left side, the next on the right side, and back and forth, but I don't really know...

Anyone else know?

When i ovulate it happens on different sides.i know that because after every positive opk i start cramping.one month it's on my right and the next it's on my left.so it's different in other women.

hi caren, i always feel ovulation pains on my right side even if im ovulating from my left!! lol, cant figure that one out. yeah and i think it does mean that the ovaries take it in turns to produce mature follicles to ovulate. although both ovaries will produce eggs, the dominant follicle will always be the one to ovulate. ultrasound is probably the best way to find out from wich side and how many egga will be ovulating!!!

Mittelschmerz is what this ovulatory pain is called and should occur between your cycles, right before and during ovulation and is completely normal if this is the case, especially if ewcm is noted around that time
