Ovulation

I have a few ovulation questions. First, can you get your period regularly and not ovulate? Also if you feel mittelshmertz does that mean definitely without a doubt you're ovulating? And is it possible to not ovulate every month? I have never noticed the egg white cervical mucus, but have had the mittelschmertz pain sometimes, and other signs of ovulation, but i'm not sure if i am actually ovulation

Yes, it's possible to not ovulate if you're having periods. And yes, it's possible to ovulate only sometimes if you're having periods.

Hard to say with regards to O pains. Sad thing is that lower intestinal gas if often confused with O pain..

Not everyone has good EWCM (egg white CM), so that's not a good gauge either.

If you're unsure if you're actually ovulating, you should call your OB/GYN and as for a progesterone test. Typically it's done 8 days after suspected ovulation. THis is a better indicator of O.

Mina... Menstruation is something that should happen 12 to 16 days after a woman has ovulated, or released an egg. In most women, if the ovulation does not occur then she will not get her period. Months where a woman does not ovulate is known as anovulation and typically doesn’t happen all that often. In some women that have an anovulatory disorder, they may continue to bleed each month even though they are not having a true menstrual period. Bleeding that occurs when a woman has not ovulated is known as anovulatory bleeding and is not normal. So, technically speaking, one cannot get her menstrual period if she has not ovulated as a true period can only happen if ovulation has occurred.

Some ppl dont see the EWCM and still O. I would suggest that u use OPK's and see if u get a + result be4 going to the doc unless u dont have regular cycles.

Mina also not having EWCM does not mean that you are not ovulating. Sometimes the CM just doesn't come down from the cervix where you can notice it. Also, many women will get creamy CM, but not the EWCM, and they conceive just fine. It just may be a weird CM month for you. The only way to know for sure, though, is to track basal body temps. If you aren't doing it already, then I would highly recommend it. Good luck and lots of baby dust!!!
