I would start with trying the ovulation kits (OPK's). I talked to a doctor who told me that you shouldn't "waste your time and money" on anything other than ClearBlue Digital Ovulation Kit's. They are kind of pricey, but when you are getting ready to ovulate, they show a happy face instead of trying to see if the lines match colors (it can get kind of confusing to use the non-digital ones).

How long are your cycles?

OPK (ovulation predictor kits) are a great way of testing for ovulation. Those little things are what saved me from a year of trying to conceive without luck! After 5 months of not detecting a surge the doctor agreed to see me ( normally they will not see you until you have been trying for a year) but sure enough... I was not ovulating on my own so the doctor started me on clomid.. and BOOM! it worked!

I don't ovulate, so they don't work for me, but they absolutely do work if you are ovulating.

I reccomend the Clear BLue easy OPKs- they show either circles for not detecting or smiely faces for detecthing the LH surge! easy to use and digital takes the guess work out of it!
