OPK's After Clomid?

Dr,

This is round 3 of clomid for me, and I have cycle buddies doing clomid as well, how many days do you need to wait after your last dose of clomid before you can start doing opk's and not risk a false positive?

Thank you!

Stephanie- this is a good question, I never had false positives as a result of clomid- I only had them as a result of the PCOS. Like I would have a pos in the morning and a neg in the afternoon- I dont think it will affect you. Start them about day 10 or 11...

THe clomid is done by then anyway- GOOD LUCK! I hope clomid is the trick for you :)

regardless of when one starts Clomid, unless they consistently have a very quick ovulation resulting in shortened cycles, CD 9 is a good time to start checking..

I just finished my 3rd round of clomid and I used to begin on cd10 to make sure I didn't miss it, was taking clomid 5-9. I never got a +opk any of the months before cd14 so now I begin on cd12. You should start early until you know your cycle so you don't miss it. Lots of luck!!!

I got a positive OPK on cd9, cd15, & cd21 on clomid. All I took in the afternoon (cd9 I took in the afternoon, and before bed just to confirm). The kicker is, I don't think I ovulated any of the 3 times b/c I'm tracking my bbt and it doesn't show a real big shift in temp either time. http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/20a16f

You're right, its extremely frustrating! If you have gotten any answers since your last post - please share!

I am still a member. It turns out my BBT wasn't shifting with the +OPK's b/c they were false positives. I have PCOS which means my LH levels are high anyways. Your LH levels are what the OPK's measure. So they basically dont work for me & were a big fat waste of money. I tried the OV watch and it didn't work either. In September of last year I finally switched to an RE. They put me on Femara & I had an IUI it worked like clockwork and I was pregnant the first try. I'm now 27 weeks. I ovulated like clockwork on femara. they used a trigger shot so they knew exactly when to do the IUI. My whole story is posted on my journey - PCOS to baby.

I have the same problem. I am on my 1st cycle of clomid 5-9. I got my 1st +OPK on CD13 & I checked again & got another +OPK on CD14. I figured that I ovulated on CD14 or CD15 but took another OPK today CD17 and got another +OPK. My BBT was as follows:

CD12 - 97.27

CD13 - 96.98 +OPK at 11am

CD14 - 97.24 +OPK at 10am but -OPK at 10pm

CD15 - 97.31

CD16 - 97.18 dropped in temp after 2 high temps from previous 2 days

CD17 - 97.20 +OPK at 6:15am

Can anyone tell me if I already ovulated or if I am waiting to ovulate???? Please help.

I don't really know but your temps look like they may be anovulatory at this point - usually after ovulation they go up and stay up until your period comes...but wanted to say that I have the same thing...I took Clomid for the first time in February and have had positive OPK's on CD 15 and 25! I keep on having cramping but maybe that's just cysts from the Clomid?
