Here's the run down... My DH and I have been TTC our first little miracle since October 2005.
I tried the internet cheapie OPK's last year and they didn't work at all for me. Never got a positive. I tried BBT and only ovulated twice in 4 months with a luteal phase of far under 10 days.
This time, my doctor suggested using Clearblue Digital OPK's and so I started my new OPK journey yesterday. I'm going to post every day whether the OPK was positive or negative...

Hi Wannabe, I just wanted to say that I am on the exact same cycle day as you - CD15 and this is my first month of using OPKs. I am using the clearblue non-digital ones as the digitals are too expensive for me. I am testing with FMU as it's not convenient for me to test during the day, I hope this doesn't mean I miss the surge. DH and I are BD'ing almost every night as I am paranoid that if we stop, we may miss the surge. We're both exhausted!
I've been checking out the FF chart gallery and have seen lots of charts for women who have ovulated on day 15 and later and then gone on to get a BFP, so I don't think we should give up yet! I have also read posts on here by women who have got preggo without ever seeing a +OPK, so let's both keep positive!!

Here's my newest problem... I'm CD 16 today, so far no positive OPK, but I started spotting. If I spot this early in my cycle, it usually doesn't stop until full flow, which normally comes very early on a cycle such as this. I bet I'm full flow AF by CD 20. :(
I have no idea what's going on with my body. I'm going to call the RE and find out if they want me to continue the OPK's... what's the point of wasting the money if I don't need to, right?

Oh wannabe I'm so sorry to hear that AF is on her way. Have you made an appointment to go back to the doc? Maybe they will put you on Clomid? This is my 1st Clomid cycle, still no +OPK for me.
How many days have you been testing OPK's for? Is there any chance you ovulated, missed your surge and your spotting is implantation bleeding?

I did exactly what they told me to do and started testing on CD 12. I'm now CD 16, so I've been using them for 5 days.
It's a possibility that I missed the surge, but I doubt it. I don't think this is implantation because it's too early and also because my stupid AF did the same thing to me last month too. Started spotting on CD 16 (just like this month) and continued spotting until CD 23, when it turned to full flow.
This sucks. The doctor said that if AF really does rear her head, I can go get my blood work done anytime. Then hubby has to do his SA and after that's done, I call and schedule the appointment with the RE.

Wannabe, I'm so sorry that you are having so much trouble with ovulation, it can be sooo frustrating. Have you always started on cd12, how long is your cycle? I have a shorter cycle so I do need to start earlier- about 26/28 day cycle but sometimes I get the +opk on cd11 and sometimes on cd12 (except when on clomid then no sooner than cd14 and now I have cycsts and I'm on cd 13 and just starting to get a faint line). So it is possible that you could have missed your surge if you started on cd12 and it happened just one day sooner. I would definitely begin on cd10 or even 9 just to be safe. I actually think I began on cd9 until I knew when it happend and then didn't start until later. I'm pretty sure I'm not ovulating, but I followed the instructions anyway. Start on CD 12 and go for 10 days or until AF comes. AF is playing tricks on me... starting and then stoping, red and then a light brown, stringy stuff instead of the normal clotting. It's just weird.
I finally gave in and used a tampon yesterday... then I went and had my blood tests done (9 viles of blood, wow). I wore the tampon all day and last night I took it out and there was only a very tiny bit of light brown snot looking stuff on it. Pretty disgusting actually. I have no idea what's going on, but hopefully I'll know more soon.

I'm currently spotting and have been for 4 days. The exact same thing happened last month (started spotting on CD 16 and it just continued until I started AF on CD 24). I'm assuming the spotting will once again last until AF shows this time too.

The doctor said to come in and do bloodwork whenever AF comes. Well, I went in on Sunday and had my blood drawn because my spotting got more heavy and I was sure AF was coming, but she still hasn't come. Still spotting, though. Figure it's a weird AF. Progesterone on CD 18 was 0.7 indicating no ovulation.
Now it's time for DH to do his SA and then we will get an appointment with the RE.

I also have been TTC since October of '05. That was when I came off birth control. The first 13 months I had no period. I was messed up lol. Now the past year or more I've had a period every month but my cycles are VERY irratic. I'm not regular. I went to the dr's a month ago. Got MORE blood taken.
My dr. told me my symptoms are classic for a woman who doesn't ovulate.
Once I get a test done to see if my tubes and all that are OK then he's putting me on clomid. Which will help me ovulate and hopefully help me get pregnant.
I hope you and I both finally get a baby here soon!

They were a lot lower than most people's temps! I thought something was wrong with me! LOL! When I did ovulate (very rarely, my temps were eratic and I never had a LP of over a few days.
Unfortunately, my doctors won't do anything to help me... so I'm taking matters into my own hands. I'm done playing around.

HopeN is correct. Also, tell ur hubby to do it for the baby. If the Drs wont go ahead with your treatment until they know about him then he is only delaying the process.
What I would do is research all about male infertility and the odds (i think its very very low chance that its the man.) and tell him what all you've learned, so that if possibly it is him you can tell him you know all about the treatment for guys. I think theres pills men can take to help up their sperm count and everything.
Plus I would tell him just to do it, because odds are its you that has the infertility at the present time, due to your irregular cycles and the fact that you don't ovulate correctly.
The odds are in his favor... so maybe telling him that might persuade him....

I remember reading that you were seeing ur other ob-gyn. Ask the RE's office to fax those to ur Ob Gyn. THey have to do that and let ur Ob GYn take it from that point on. She says u need to lose weight before treatment, now if something is wrong with the blood tests, then ur Ob Gyn may change her mind. Im not telling u to do this, but this is what I would have done in this situation. I would get my blood test results no matter what, they cant hold it. no way
I agree with TTC its probably with ur insurance (keiser right?) that they may need certain pre conditions and stuff thats why they wont do ur beta or Rx pills. Im not sure, but thats a very good possibility. I read here abt another girl that had keiser and no beta until 2 weeks after missed period. So, its more to do with ur insurance than ur RE or Ob Gyn.
such is life. these things are so stressful. even if u don't feel it, ur subconcious holds all the stress.
im sorry its getting to him... i hope it all works out. if u do get on the clomid and notice the pattern of how many days into ur cycle that u ovulate, u can try to plan a little relaxing couples getaway. it will relieve the stress, help u guys relax and re connect, and do a lot of BD so if u are ovulating you can get preggo too =)

Almost threw up on Saturday morning, but blamed it on getting the flu or something. The test yesterday morning was negative, but I figured it would be. I'm more upset that I wasted the test, but oh well. Also, AF is just around the corner, but it's too dang early. I'm only on CD 19 today, I think. I hate this.

Anyway ya im on CD26 today so I know AF will show her face next week. I am just real down hearing all the ladies say the get a postive on there OPK and I can't belive I got none.=( Mostly with the digtal one.

you guys sound just like me about 6 months ago. i dont ovulate on my own either. i got a prescription for clomid from my OBGYN and i start it next cycle!! it will make me ovulate (hopefully) so that I can get pregnant. Im looking forward to the next 6 months, finally i have some positive things in my life =) and i hope one of those positives will finally be an OPK =)

Things are ok... haven't gotten my Clomid yet. Probably will be getting it for next cycle since I'm already CD 14 today. I'm not keeping track of ovulation or anything right now, just taking it easy for a little while longer.
Good news, I finally got my first "real" period in a long time and I'm so hoping that it means something great is on the way. DH and I have been baby dancing at least every other day for the last week and I'm sure it will continue... we love the fun making! LOL!

I hope ur period means ur ovulating but I've had normal periods for over a year now and the Dr told me I'm not ovulating. Ur period may seem normal, but u never know. To be on the safe side I'd still keep track of what day of each month your period starts. Then go back and count. Starting from the day it started until the day ur next one started, that number of days is how long ur cycle was (idk if u knew that, if u did sorry!) if ur cycles are not around the same number of days (give or take like 2) each and every month then odds are you're still not ovulating. I'm only telling u this because I wasted about a year of ttc b/c I never went to the Dr. cuz I thought since I was at least having a period that I must have been ovulating... nothing was farther from the truth lol.
Def. still go to Dr and see about clomid and get all the other tests done too, better safe than sorry! Did DH say he'd do the SA? He really should get that done, sometimes they wont prescribe you clomid until the DH gets semen checked....

heres an example with my cycles (and i had a normal period each month of these cycles, thank god i marked when they started, cuz when i went back and looked again and counted the days they were wayyy off lol)
Length of my Cycles Jan-Aug: 22 days, 36 days, 45 days, 19 days, 28 days, 34 days, 34 days, 16 days
as you can see Im soo messed up. I have a period every month but if u take a close look, it never comes around the same time. If ur ovulating, then 14 days (+/- 2) after ur ovulate u will have ur period, which would make ur peiriod around the same time every month. Mine wasnt. So hopefully the clomid works wonders on me and gets me regular!

wow u are just like me. i had a period july 13-21st and then cd 16 i started again it was from aug 1- 7 and it was really light just like spotting and light flow for one day then spotting agian... so idk what the hecks wrong with me either. i told my dr. bout it and he said that clomid will help regulate me. so def. ask for it!!!

And when AF dose come it uselly sticks around for 5sometimes 6days just depends. But I still don't think im OV because I got the Clear Blue Easy Digtal OV test and did not get one postive and I whent through two boxs. And from what I hear AF comes 14days after OV.
Will by looking back I OV on CD19 and that day I tested and got a big fat NEGTIVE. But AF still visted me on CD33 this month. And I bd as will on CD19 so that is way I don't think im OV. Anyway im hopeing that the OBGYN will help me out and not consider it and recomend me go to see a fertility department.
Im just going to tell my OBG about me take the OPK the digtal ones and they all came out negive for two months. And will tell her my concen about not OV and hope like wannabeamommy said will not be consdier and fertility thing. So wish me luck you two and if Jennifer or wannabeamommy has any more advice please thorugh it out at me. Before my OBGYN apt on the 8th.

will if you consdier anywere between 32-34 days.
And when AF dose come it uselly sticks around for 5sometimes 6days just depends. But I still don't think im OV because I got the Clear Blue Easy Digtal OV test and did not get one postive and I whent through two boxs. And from what I hear AF comes 14days after OV.

Will unfornally my DH is like Wannabeamommy and will not go get a SA done. So that is tottly out of the question. So im hopeing that my OBGYN will let me just get blood work done for HSG and see about PCOS and them not telling me that DH has to be tested before then can help me. And I hope if I need Clomid then I hope they will just give it to me with out makeing DH do a SH because he abulsty won't. And I just don't want to waste my time going if my OBGYN won't help me to see if its me. I think Kasier of aful when it comes to fertility. And they should help out us women if tests come back not OV. So I hope I can get some help from my OBGYN it will be my last hope.

yea I hope you get some help too! Thats just awful that your hubby wont get a semen analysis.... theres no way he will do it? doesnt he realize that if you spend all this money on clomid and tests and stuff, and if the problem is just his sperm then it will have been a waste of time and money..? Tell him there are SO MANY options if it is his sperm. Sometimes the sperm just doesnt move right, or it moves a little slow, and thats why it falls short of hitting the egg. Thats actually not to rare, and they have so many options on what you can do to still get pregnant. If it is his sperm they can help you out so easily really and you can get pregnant!! I told my husband that the Dr said he had to get SA done or they wouldnt let me have the clomid and we NEED the clomid. (that was true too, my Dr said it had to be done) So my husband said "OK". Oh I just wish your husband would do it for you.

Even though your insurance (kaiser) seems to suck when it comes to fertility from what I've heard, and even though your DH wont test his sperm, I know you can still get clomid... just tell the Dr's your husband has already had it done like 6 months ago. I've actually never heard that you should count spotting as a period if you are irregular, but I sometimes do it anyway. This time was different though. I'll be asking my OBGYN about it at my appointment on the 11th.

idk because like me u are very irregular, there were times i didnt know what counted as my period and when i could expect another one... my OBGYN told me that is classic for someone who isnt ovulating. That if you ovulate your period will come at almost the same day every month... if u have trouble distinguishing what is a real period and when ur next one may or may not come then id say ur not ovulating like me, and u def. need to tell ur doc about it and see what they say... cuz idk, i could be wrong. when i spotted for 4 days in Aug. it was CD 16, I was waiting to see if I would ovulate and then I start spotting... I was so mad confused and upset, I was convinced it was ovulation or implantation spotting... but it wasnt, it was my 'period' b/c 30 days later I started AF again, its septembers AF.
but thats just me u could be diff. my OBGYN said when AF is that irregular that no monthly period is acutally a period even if it is heavy, that its just a form of break-through bleeding and u can get it every month but it varies in size length and heavy-ness, and it can come any CD (like CD 16 for me)... all this means ur not ovulating which means you need clomid. If i were you i wouldnt stop until i had some clomid in my hands =)
