On day 17, had an U/S today and dr. saw only 2 small follicles. Said I probably wouldn't ovulate. ??

I took 50mg clomid days 3-7 this month (last month I did 100mg days 5-7). I'm also taking 2000mg metformin. I always ovulate every month, and I've had a successful pregnancy before. I was devastated when he said I wouldn't ovulate. Is there a chance ovulation might be delayed this month? I usually ovulate between days 17 and 20. I'm so confused.

Hey Stephanie, Its normal to have an occassional anovulatory cycle. Now, if ur Dr put you on Metformin & Clomid, looks like u have ovulatory issues.. So, the med haS not worked. Talk to yr Dr abt getting on to a higher dose og Clomid or a different medication like Femara, injectibkles ets. You may have had a successful preg before, but its abso possible for infertility to strike anytime.

At CD 17, if your follies are immature, inspite of the meds, then he is probably right.
