no period?

we have been TTC for over a year. i have had my period once in the last 9 months and thats because the doctor gave me provera. I have gained weight so is it possiable i could have PCOS? if not what else could it be? i went to the doctor he told me he doesnt seem like PCOS...should i actaully go there and ask to be tested for it?

I'm 26, 5'11 and 145 pounds. no extra hair growth (like facial)
